Founded in summer 2008 by Shane James Bordas and Ross Taliana, Paradyll Productions is a DV filmmaking partnership dedicated to producing thoughtful and imaginative low budget independent films.
SHANE JAMES BORDAS Writer / Director / Producer / Actor
Shane studied acting at The Bridge Theatre Training Company in Camden, London. After graduating, he played the lead role of Roderick Usher in a well-received expressionist stage adaptation of The Fall of the House of Usher at the Vingtieme Theatre in Paris. Other leading fringe roles followed, including 4th Knight/4th Tempter in Murder in the Cathedral, Jacob Marley/Fred Scrooge in A Christmas Carol and Figaro in The Barber of Seville.
Looking to gain more experience in front of a camera, Shane then began performing in a wide variety of film projects. Ranging from small independent shorts to big budget features, notable credits include workshop work for the students of Malcolm Mowbray (director of A Private Function), Martin Davies' Interference, Waltham Forest 'Hitchock Production Fund' winner The Service Industry, Penelope, The Bank Job, Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd and Richard Linklater's Me and Orson Welles.
Long harbouring an ambition to write, direct, produce and act in his own material, Shane formed Paradyll Productions with Ross Taliana in July 2008 to do just that.
ROSS TALIANA Director of Photography / Editor / Producer
Having won an award for 'Best Non-Fiction Film' at the Electric Palace theatre in Hastings whilst still at college, Ross was spurred on to pursue a career in film and television. Augmenting his talents as a producer, cameraman and editor, he also taught himself web design and digital animation.
In summer 2008, Ross co-founded Paradyll Productions. Paradyll has proven to be a successful and award winning creative pairing which combines Ross' cinematography and production skills with Shane James Bordas’ talent as a writer and director. With Paradyll, Ross is currently in post-production for the short film A Phantom Ride and in pre-production for the feature length A Morass.
Outside of Paradyll, Ross freelances on a wide variety of projects in a range of capacities. Presently, he is Assistant Director for the feature film Fugue (directed by Errol Theriot), is part of the pre-production team of Low Fat Films' feature Dead Cat (directed by Stefan Georgiou) and has completed a stint as part of the production crew for London Fashion Week. As a producer, Ross is also helping to develop a new British sitcom Getting Our Act Together with actor/writers Drew Horner (of Equal Measure) and Mackenzie Thorpe.
